Engage the practice

The practice takes on design problems in public-sector data that an organisation will live with for decades. You work directly with senior consultants, led by the principal, from the first conversation to the final document.

Engagements that fit

Registry and master data modernisation. Citizen identifier strategy. AI deployment policy for a ministry or public body. Data architecture that has to work across federal, provincial, Indigenous and municipal governments. Sovereign cloud strategy and sovereign data centre enclave design for protected government workloads. Policy frameworks meant to last through changes of government. The work is with senior decision-makers, and it produces design and policy documents.

Engagements that do not fit

Technology selection bake-offs and roles on large delivery teams. The practice is small and senior; when needed, it can engage and guide large-team implementations. If your problem needs those things, the practice will say so in the first reply and, where it can, suggest a firm that does that work.

What working directly with senior consultants means

The large firms bring the same frameworks and similar experience, along with partners, managers and junior staff who are all part of the fee. Here the senior consultant you first speak with does the analysis, writes the documents and presents them. There is no hand-off to junior staff and no firm overhead.

How to start

Write to deane.stillar@dsarchitek.ca or use the form below. Every inquiry gets a reply within five business days, and that reply says whether there is a fit. If there is, the next conversations set the scope and a proposal. Fees are set per engagement in the proposal.

A few paragraphs is enough. What is being decided, and what makes it hard?
