The practice

Public-sector data strategy and policy frameworks

DSarchitek Inc. writes data strategies, frameworks and procurement guidance meant to be read, audited and revised by people who were not in the room when they were written.

Documents that outlast the project

A data strategy is used long after the team that wrote it has moved on. If it only makes sense to its authors, the next government, the auditor and the vendor will each read it differently. The practice writes in plain language, states each decision and who owns it, and pairs requirements with the test that shows they have been met.

What the practice does

Work behind it

The practice wrote, as sole author, the ten-year data modernisation strategy for a Canadian provincial registries program, and built a custom data maturity assessment on the UK Central Digital and Data Office framework. At Alberta Health Services, the principal's Enterprise Information Management strategy and framework were published in the Canadian Health Information Management Lifecycle.
